About me

About me

I know what life can be like.

You know what you want, but you don’t know how to get there.

That was me. For years and years.

Or, you don’t know what you want and there’s no space or time to think.

It’s ok to be a bit lost.

My mission is to help midlifers to realise how extraordinary they are, so they know they can take control, create balance and be happy.

My background

I’ve worked in fundraising, marketing, communications and creative roles. I’m proud of the difference I’ve made, but I’ve always been fascinated by the people around me – the way we interact, our relationships and how we work. I have three young children and a wonderful husband who are the centre of my world. I love being a mum and feel that I cherish my time with them even more when I also have projects of my own to focus on. They get a much better version of me as I feel every muscle is getting a stretch.

My ‘aha moment’

Many moons ago, I went on a short coaching course. I won’t lie, a day off endless meetings and email firefighting, plus a free lunch, were the biggest draw. But I came away inspired and started to put it all into practice the very next day. When one of my team told me I’d make a great coach I was blown away. Could coaching techniques really have that impact so quickly? And so, in 2016 after redundancy, I decided to retrain as a coach with The Coaching Academy and I haven’t looked back.

Flexibility works

I’ve worked part-time since being a mum. First as Head of Creative at The Fairtrade Foundation and now for myself as a coach and facilitator. Flexible working is such a buzz word and I think I embody what so many aspire to. I love what I do and am good at it. I work hard and get back as much as I put in. I also make time to volunteer for the charity Smart Works, helping unemployed women choose a fabulous confidence boosting outfit so they can give the best possible first impression at interview.

I’ve been there…

I used to get deliriously upset about work. I was overwhelmed and stressed. I would dread Monday mornings and would work all hours to try to keep on top of everything. Imposter syndrome was ever present. Now I'm established in my freelance and free range life these feelings have disappeared. I’ve chosen to focus my energy on what I'm good at and what I really want, not what I think I ought to do. I no longer do anything that fills me with dread. I am in control and present. I am the very best version of myself for everyone around me and I love helping others be the same.

Is this you?

I do my best work with
midlifers who are probably parents. They know something isn’t right and are ready to do something about it. They either feel that life is running away from them and they want plan B but have no idea what that looks like. Or they feel completely out of balance. All the plates are spinning and could crash around them at any time. I help these amazing individuals get really clear on where they want to focus their energy. I challenge any self-doubt to ensure they have the strength, belief and confidence to know they can take control, create balance and be happy.

Stuck in a rut?

I also love helping women who feel stuck in a rut. They want to feel fabulous again and want another woman’s help to make it happen. The thought of going it alone is terrifying. Together we work on mindset, confidence and identity to give them the confidence to walk tall. There is no magic wand when it comes to confidence but I know feeling your best brings out the best in you. As a qualified colour analyst I can help you get really clear on the colours that will leave your skin looking glowing and healthy, boost your mood and increase your energy levels.
