Colour analysis

'The best colour in the whole world is the one that looks good on you.'
Coco Chanel

Welcome to the wonderful world of colour!

As a confidence coach I'm often asked to help people feel more confident.

Alas there's no magic wand but as a colour analyst I can help you look and feel your best simply by wearing your best colours.

This can have a huge impact on your confidence and self esteem and in all areas of your life.

As well as knowing your colours I will help you understand colour psychology and the best colours to wear when.

When I get someone into their true colours they feel happier, walk taller and exude confidence.

Don't believe me? Listen to the audio clip below from a client who has fallen in love with her palette, clothes and shopping.

Then read on for more about colour psychology or skip to details about how colour analysis with me works and to book.

Look around you and you will see colour everywhere.

In nature, Spring bursts into life with vibrant reds, yellows and greens turning hazy as the heat rises through the Summer months

and the delicate shades of sweet peas and lavender prevail.

In Autumn, as the green leaves turn orange and brown, there’s a warm and earthy feel to our colourful world

before the cool Winter sets in with its crisp and clear blues and evergreens.

We see hundreds of colours every day and they all have a physical and psychological effect.

Some colours stimulate.

Others harmonise.

Colours evoke emotions.

They trigger memories and feelings.

They can be energising and depleting.

They can be culturally symbolic.

We all respond to colours in a different way and have deep seated colour associations. Both good and bad.

I wore a canary yellow shirt to school with a navy blazer. It made us stand out (probably the aim) and I couldn’t wait to take it all off at the end of every day.

My London-based hockey team played in a jacaranda and buttercup (purple and yellow) kit and when I see that colour combination I have happy memories of living life to the full, being part of a winning team and also meeting my husband.

These days I know to wear my favourite red dress to events where I need to raise a room's energy levels or feel my absolute best.

Check out the video below to see how colour plays such a big role when making a first impression, such as in a job interview.

Your colour analysis

The colours you wear closest to your face can have the greatest impact on how you look and feel.

Get the colour right and you’ll look younger and healthier, you’ll feel more energised and confident and getting dressed every morning is easy and enjoyable.

What outfits do people always comment on?

What clothes in your wardrobe do you love and always try on but then take off again?

What colours do you naturally gravitate towards?

Chances are all of this is telling you something that colour analysis will confirm.

Colour analysis is for anyone who has a wardrobe full of clothes but feels they have nothing to wear.

It’s for anyone who wants to buy less and in a more mindful, sustainable way.

It’s for anyone who wants to look and feel their very best every time they get dressed.

Your colours will stay the same throughout your life no matter your age, hair colour or how tanned your skin is.

Colour analysis is a once in a lifetime experience.

Along with draping coloured fabrics close to your face, I will look at your eyes, hair colour, skin tone and use a personality test to determine your colours.

You will either be a warm or a cool skin tone and you will then fall into one of the seasons.

Summer or Winter for cool skin tones. Spring or Autumn for warm.

Your colour analysis can be a joy-filled hour together.

'What a joy it was to have my colours done by Emily! It's something I've been meaning to do for years. Emily made me feel super relaxed and clearly explained the process. She's given me the ability to clothes shop with confidence and choose things I may previously have overlooked. I can't recommend her enough!'
K, London

'Yikes! so many scary pictures of my face! Thank you for today. I very much enjoyed learning about colours and have already thought about my Autumn colours and clothes.'
J, Brighton

'I enjoyed the personal shopping and ended up with things I would never have picked for myself and which are quite colourful but made me double take in the mirror when I saw a stylish professional looking back at me. I will be wearing my new blue top for authority and confidence for the first meeting with X.'
